Marianne failed to show up for class today, once again shirking her studies by feigning illness. Unfortunately for her, she's even a worse actor than she is a student, and Miss Svenson sees right through her charade. Since she cannot seem to get out of her bed – or her pyjamas – on her own, the teacher has a plan to help her with both problems.

Miss Svenson is armed with a tough hand and two wooden spoons as she confronts her lazy student. Yanking down Marianne's pyjama bottoms, the no-nonsense teacher pulls her over the knee for a long and painful handspanking, all the while scolding the poor girl for neglecting her responsibilities as a student. By the time Miss Svenson reaches for her sturdy spoon, Marianne's cheeks are already red and angry, but the school day has just begun.
