Three of my students have been caught with cigarettes and a bottle of gin, and I have heard a rumor they have been selling these vices to the other students. Standing in front of me, hands nervously clasped together, the fear of punishment makes each of them deny the obvious. Of course, I know my students well, and they know my impatience for lying and delinquency.

Charlotte is up first, for a cold caning in front of her wincing classmates. Bent over, knickers down, the little liar takes twelve hard strokes on her bare bottom, barely able to utter a "Thank you, Miss" after each stroke. Soon, her poor cheeks are covered with angry red stripes, whilst her conspirators watch in terror...knowing they are next.
